AI Stories You'll Wish You Never Heard

You'll wish you never heard it. You'll tell everyone anyway.

One true story per episode. Jason Oberle opens and closes each episode in his own recorded voice; the story itself is told by a synthetic computer voice.

One true story per episode — never two. A new episode every weekday, Monday through Friday. Jason Oberle records the intro and the outro, and adds his own commentary on either side; the story in the middle is read by a machine, which is only fair.

How to read the grades

Every story carries the grade it earned in the research. The grade is stated on the episode page and travels with the story wherever it is told.

Grade

Documented

Sourced to a primary source — a lab's own record, a court filing, a regulator's document.

Grade

Reported

Rests on named reputable journalism.

Grade

Legend

A myth-vs-fact feature only: the famous version is the claim, checked against the record.

Entries marked as allegation-framed say so on their pages: filings and rulings are as graded; what they allege is alleged, not established.

Our verification standard: Every story is traced to its primary source wherever a primary record exists — “primary source” in the sense of the ACRL/RBMS–SAA Guidelines for Primary Source Literacy: material that serves as “original evidence documenting a time period, an event, a work, people, or ideas.” Where no primary record exists, the story is graded REPORTED and rests on named reporting, so the gap is never hidden. Verification follows the “Seek Truth and Report It” provisions of the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics, adopted by this show as its standard: take responsibility for the accuracy of the work, verify provenance before release, use original sources whenever possible, and provide access to the source material.
